Terms of Use
Last updated: 8 October 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Systrantic, including the website at https://systrantic.com, the application at https://app.systrantic.com, and related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Palmarius Technologies (Pty) Ltd ("Palmarius", "we", "us", "our"), a private company incorporated in South Africa, with its principal place of business in Cape Town.
By using the website, joining the waitlist, creating an account, buying access, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our risk disclaimer. The risk disclaimer forms part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. The Service is published for a general international audience. It is not aimed at people in any particular country, including South Africa.
You are responsible for deciding whether the laws where you live allow you to read this kind of research. If they do not, do not use the Service. We may refuse, suspend, or close access where we reasonably believe your use would break the law or these Terms.
3. The Service
Systrantic is research and education about systematic trading in stocks and exchange-traded funds. We specify strategies, keep them under continuous backtest, and combine them into multi-strategy systems. On the Service you can read that research, including methodology, specifications, and test results.
Paid Edge access may also include the orders a research system generated, such as the instrument, side, and the timing, price, and related fields in the research record. We do not publish a model portfolio of target allocation percentages for you to copy into an account. Where a description shows how strategies sit inside a system, that is part of the research description. It is not an instruction to allocate capital that way.
"Following" a system means you can keep reading its research as we update it. It does not mean we trade for you, copy activity into a brokerage account, send you trading signals, or manage your money.
We do not connect to your broker, place or route orders, hold client assets, or exercise discretion over any account. Features may be added, changed, or removed. Free access and Edge access are described on the pricing page and in section 8.
4. Not advice, and not a financial services provider
The Service is research and education. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. It is not a signal service and not an instruction to buy, sell, or hold anything.
South Africa and FAIS
Palmarius is incorporated in South Africa. Systrantic is not aimed at people in South Africa. We are not an authorised financial services provider under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002 (FAIS). We do not furnish "advice" and we do not perform "intermediary services", as those terms are used in FAIS.
The research is impersonal. It is published generally. It is not a recommendation, guidance, or proposal that any transaction is appropriate for your objectives, financial situation, or needs. We do not ask about those things, and we do not assess suitability. Seeing an order in a research record is not a proposal that you enter that order.
If you are in South Africa and you want financial advice, use an authorised financial services provider. Accessing the Service from South Africa does not make us your adviser and does not create a FAIS client relationship.
Other countries
We are not registered or authorised as an investment adviser, broker-dealer, commodity trading advisor, portfolio manager, or investment firm in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Australia, or any other country. Nothing on the Service is an offer to sell, a solicitation to buy, or a personal recommendation to enter a transaction in any security or other financial product.
This includes, where they might otherwise be relevant, the US Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the US Securities Exchange Act of 1934, the US Commodity Exchange Act, the UK Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, and Directive 2014/65/EU (MiFID II) and the rules of EEA member states. You must comply with the laws of the country where you live.
5. Orders, and what you do with the research
An order shown in the Service is a record of what a defined research system produced. It is not an instruction to you, a request that you trade, or a statement that the order is suitable for you.
You might choose to enter a similar order at a broker of your own. That is your decision alone. We do not encourage it, we do not ask you to do it, and we do not help you place, size, or time a live order. If you trade, you do so for your own account, at your own broker, and at your own risk. You can lose money, including more than you expect.
Live trading will differ from the research. Timing, prices, size, spreads, commissions, taxes, borrowing costs, liquidity, and market impact will not match the research record. We do not know your circumstances, and we do not monitor what you do away from the Service.
6. Hypothetical and tested results
Test results on the Service, including continuous backtests and other simulated results, are hypothetical research. They are not a live track record and they are not a promise of future results.
Hypothetical and tested results have inherent limits, including these:
- They are prepared with the benefit of hindsight and stated assumptions.
- They do not represent trading in a real account.
- Unless a page says otherwise, they may not reflect commissions, spreads, slippage, taxes, borrowing costs, or market impact.
- They can be affected by data errors, survivorship, overfitting, and the design of the test.
- A system that tested well can lose money in live markets.
Past, hypothetical, or tested performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. No representation is made that any account will, or is likely to, achieve profits or losses similar to those shown.
7. Your account
When you register, you must give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@systrantic.com if you believe your account is being misused.
An account is personal. Do not share it. We may ask you to verify your email. You can use the account before verification, and we may limit features until you verify.
8. Free access, Edge, and payment
8.1 Plans
Limited free access lets you see part of the catalogue and does not expire on its own. Edge is paid access for a fixed term. It is currently offered for 3 months or 12 months. The price, currency, and what is included are shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
Edge is a one-time payment. It does not renew automatically. When the term ends, Edge access ends unless you buy another term. We may change prices, terms, and included features for future purchases. A change does not shorten a term you have already paid for.
8.2 Payment
Prices are charged in US dollars unless checkout states another currency. You pay the amount shown at checkout when you complete payment. Payments are processed by PayPal (or another payment provider we name at checkout). We do not store your full card number or your PayPal password. The payment provider's terms also apply to the payment.
We keep a record of the purchase. The payment provider issues the payment receipt.
8.3 Refunds and cooling-off
Edge access starts when payment succeeds. Where a mandatory cooling-off, withdrawal, or refund right applies to you and has not been validly excluded, we will honour it. Contact support@systrantic.com. Where the law does not require a refund, fees are not refunded once the term has started, including if you stop using the Service during the term.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for an unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
- interfere with the Service or its security;
- scrape, bulk-download, copy, republish, resell, or publicly redistribute the research, except for a fair quotation that the law allows;
- share your login or let more than one person use one paid account;
- present the research as your own, as personalised advice, or as a signal service to anyone else;
- use the Service to give financial advice or intermediary services without the licences your own law requires;
- reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it.
We may suspend or end access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or pose a risk to the Service, to us, or to anyone else.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, text, research, system definitions, test outputs, design, and branding, belongs to Palmarius or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property to you.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Service for your own research and education during your entitlement. You may not remove proprietary notices or use our name or marks except to identify the Service in the ordinary course.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including cloud hosting, sign-in, email, and payment processing. Their terms apply to their own services. We are not responsible for third-party sites or services linked from the Service, including any broker you choose.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PALMARIUS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that research, orders, prices, or test results will be complete, current, or correct. Research can be delayed, revised, or withdrawn.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PALMARIUS AND ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, TRADING LOSSES, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY DECISION YOU MAKE AFTER READING THE RESEARCH.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies, including liability for fraud or for gross negligence where a limit is not permitted.
14. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you will indemnify Palmarius and its directors and employees against claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the Service, your trading or other decisions, your breach of these Terms, or your breach of any law or third-party right. This indemnity does not apply where the law does not allow it.
15. Changes
We may change the Service or these Terms. If we make a material change to the Terms, we will give notice (for example by email or in the application) before it takes effect, unless the law requires something sooner. If you keep using the Service after the effective date, you accept the change. If you do not agree, stop using the Service. A change does not shorten a term you have already paid for.
16. Suspension and ending access
You may stop using the Service at any time and you may ask us to close your account. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the Service. Where we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice if we can.
Sections that should survive by their nature survive the end of access, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Subject to the next sentence, the courts of South Africa sitting in Cape Town have exclusive jurisdiction. This does not take away a mandatory consumer protection, or a mandatory right to use the laws or courts of the country where you live, that cannot be waived by contract.
If you have a complaint, contact us first at support@systrantic.com so we can try to resolve it.
